Trainers and Staff
Twinwood has two resident dressage trainers, both with extensive experience in the United States and overseas. All dressage lessons are given by Ida Mattisson and Nikki Taylor-Smith. Boarders may bring in an approved jump trainer for cross-country and stadium lessons. Twinwood does not have lesson horses, but occasionally there may be boarded horses available for partial or full lease; see our Horses for Sale or Lease page.
-Lesson or training ride (approx. 45 minutes): $75
-Partial training (3 lessons/rides per week): $700/mo.
-Full training (5 lessons/rides per week): $1000/mo.

Silver medalist Nikki Taylor-Smith is a native Briton and former BHS Instructor, British Dressage Judge and Chief Pony Club Instructor/Examiner. Nikki offers dressage lessons for all levels, up to Grand Prix. Nikki welcomes all dedicated riders, as well as competitive amateurs and professionals. Nikki provides instruction based on the European 'Scales of Training,' having been taught by the likes of Stephen Clarke (FEI Olympic Judge), Carl Hester and Syliva Schorn (Bereiter & Pferdewirtschaftsmeister). Nikki Taylor-Smith's Fees
-Private 45-minute Jumping or Dressage Lesson: $70
-Private 30-minute lesson; lunge or pessoa: $60
-Semi-private lesson, 1 hour: $50/rider

Equestrian Facility Manager~
Heather was born and raised with horses and since has made her passion of horses her life and career. She brings with her 25 years of equine experience; managing private and commercial facilities, working along side equine veterinarians, running large breeding facilities, and competing at large shows in multiple disciplines. Heather is a licensed veterinary AHT, certified in reproduction /theriogenelogy and has taken courses in equine nutrition. She has earned numerous World Championships and currently has her own herd of ponies at home. Heather is married to her husband Josh and they have 3 children. We appreciate the warm smile and positive outlook Heather brings with her each day and are excited to have her leading the Twinwood team.
